Nextforms vs Jotform: unlimited responses without the tiers

Jotform is one of the most capable form builders ever made: thousands of templates, hundreds of integrations, HIPAA options, and its own approval flows. It’s also built around a metered pricing ladder: the free plan caps your forms, your monthly submissions and even your monthly form views, and each paid tier raises the meter.

Nextforms takes the opposite stance: the meter doesn’t exist. Unlimited forms and unlimited responses on the free plan, with the workflow engine included.

Where Nextforms differs

No submission anxiety. A good month shouldn’t push you into the next pricing tier. Nextforms is free within fair use whether your form gets ten responses or ten thousand. You upgrade for team features, not for volume.

Workflows on the free plan. Email notifications to your team and your respondents (via your own connected Gmail, Outlook, SMTP, SES, or Mailgun), Google Sheets, Slack, webhooks, conditional branching, all free. On Jotform, capability grows with the tier you pay for.

Payments aren’t metered here. Payment submissions have their own meter at Jotform: the free plan allows 10 a month, 100 comes with Bronze at $39/month, and 1,000 with Gold at $129/month. Worth knowing before you build an order form on it. Nextforms doesn’t count them. Take payments on the free plan, as many as you like, with no commission on top of Stripe’s own fees.

Views aren’t metered either. Jotform’s free plan also caps form views at 10,000 a month, which is a limit your form can reach without a single submission. Ours is unlimited within fair use.

Where Jotform wins

Jotform’s breadth is real: an enormous template library, more field types (appointment slots, among many others), HIPAA-compliant plans for healthcare, PDF form filling, and integrations in the hundreds. Large organizations with specialized compliance needs will find switches Nextforms doesn’t have yet.
