Some forms are really a small calculation with questions around it: a quote, a score, a price that depends on quantity and options. Doing that arithmetic after the fact — in a spreadsheet, by hand, per submission — is how the mistakes get in.

Plain formulas over your questions
A formula is arithmetic over references to other questions: add, subtract, multiply, divide, brackets. Number fields, ratings and yes/no answers count directly. For multiple choice, each option carries its own value, so “Standard / Express / Overnight” can be 0, 8 and 20 without a lookup table.
Calculated fields can reference other calculated fields, so a subtotal feeds a tax line which feeds a total. A question left unanswered counts as zero rather than breaking the sum, and a formula that accidentally refers back to itself shows blank instead of breaking the form.
It shows what you mean it to
Choose the decimals, and add a prefix or suffix: a currency symbol, “points”, “kg”. The number updates on the form as the respondent changes their answers, so a quote is visible before they submit, not after.
Logic can see it
Conditions read calculated values like any other answer. Show a “call us for volume pricing” note when the total passes a threshold, skip a section when the score is low enough, or route an approval only above a certain amount.
Use it anywhere
The result can be dropped into later questions, the thank-you page, and the confirmation email, formatted exactly as it appears on the form.
Charge it
Point a Payment question at a calculated field and the form charges that amount. The price is worked out again on the server from the answers actually submitted, so the figure a respondent pays is the one your formula produces, never one edited in the browser.
Good for
Quotes and estimates, order totals with options and quantities, scored assessments and quizzes, eligibility checks, booking prices by duration, and anything where the answer to the form is a number.
