Payments

Add a Payment question to charge the respondent when they submit. Payments go straight to your own Stripe account; Nextforms adds no fee. It’s available on every plan.

In the Payment question, Payments account → Connect Stripe, and sign in to Stripe (or create an account). A workspace has one payments account. A form with a Payment question can’t be published until one is connected.

Under Charge, choose the Type: One-time or Subscription (monthly or yearly). Then the Pricing:

  • Set an amount, in one of 18 currencies.
  • From a calculated question: the total of a Calculated question, like quantity × price. It’s computed again on our server at submit. When it comes to zero, no payment is taken and the response goes through. One-time only.
  • Use a Stripe Price ID (advanced): a price you set up in Stripe.

Pick the Customer email: one of the form’s Email questions, required and visible, which Stripe uses for the receipt.

A form has one Payment question, and it can’t be hidden or conditional. To charge only in some cases, price it from a calculation that comes to zero otherwise.

The amount, or the running total as they answer, with the card details asked for at the end. The submit button says Pay and the amount, or Subscribe. Workflows run once the payment is confirmed, so a confirmation email or a sheet row only follows a payment that went through.

Each response shows Paid, Failed or Incomplete with the amount, or that no payment was taken. The Summary adds up what was collected. Refunds and disputes are handled in Stripe.

A response revised after a send back isn’t charged again. Changes that would alter the price of what was already paid are refused.
