Responses

Open a form and choose Responses. It has tabs for Submitted (the table), In progress (when you save unfinished responses) and Summary.

One row per response: its # number, when it was submitted, the payment if the form takes one, and a column per question (its short name as the header). Click a header to sort. Search finds answers, option labels or a response number like #12.

Badges mark a response that was Revised after a send back, and one answered on an older version of the form (vN; see Publishing and versions).

With Save unfinished responses on (Pro), Responses gets an In progress tab. It lists the answers people gave before they stopped or while they are still filling in: when they started, their last answer, the status (In progress, or Dropped off after 30 minutes without an answer), the question they stopped at, and the answers so far. Click a row to read it, marked Not submitted. Tick rows to Delete them. Export includes them on their own sheet.

When the person submits, their response moves to Submitted like any other and runs your workflows then; it no longer shows under In progress. Unfinished responses are never part of the Summary, the response count, the API or your workflows, and they are deleted 30 days after their last answer. If you turn the setting off, the tab stays until the ones already saved are gone.

Click a row to open it: every answer, whether an email was Verified, the questions left unanswered, and below that the Workflows that ran for it, with each step’s result. File names open the file, and a signature shows as its image. For a revised response, the Revision switcher shows the earlier versions.

Request changes (the undo icon) emails the respondent a link that reopens their answers; their resubmission becomes a new revision of the same response. Through the built-in sender this is Pro; on Free, pick your own email connection.

A chart or overview per question: bars for choices, Yes/No and countries, the average and spread of ratings (plus the NPS score for an NPS question), average, minimum, maximum and sum of numbers, dates by month, the latest text answers, file counts, how many responses were signed, and what payments collected.

A published form opens on its Overview, where a chart shows each day’s unique visitors, how many Started (gave a first answer) and how many submitted. A fill counts as started once, even when the respondent reopens it later on the same device. Above the chart the same funnel reads in order, for example “120 visitors · 55 started · 40 submitted (33%)”: the percentage is the share of visitors who submitted.

Under the chart, Where people stop (Pro) lists your form’s questions top to bottom, each with how many people left while on that question, before answering it, and their share of all drop-offs, for example “14 · 52%”. The biggest one is highlighted. A drop-off is an unfinished response with no answer for 30 minutes that was never submitted. Before submitting counts people who answered to the end but didn’t press Submit, and Earlier version of the form counts people who stopped at a question you have since removed. It always covers the last 30 days, whatever range the chart shows, and it counts only forms with Save unfinished responses on.

Export downloads an Excel file with every response: its number (linked back to it), the submission time in your team’s time zone, the form version, a column per question, the payment, and the revision. Address answers are split into a column per part. When the form has unfinished responses, an In progress sheet lists them with the same question columns, after when they started, their last activity, the status and where they stopped. A last sheet lists each column’s full question and type. Questions you’ve since deleted keep their column.

Tick responses and choose Delete. It’s permanent: the answers and their files are removed. To delete old responses automatically, see Form settings.
